Overview
Senior Mechanical Building Services Engineer – responsible for delivering mechanical and building services elements across a range of multidisciplinary projects in the private and public sectors, including major frameworks and infrastructure developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the delivery of mechanical and building services components across projects in Built Environment, Healthcare, Education, Industrial, Energy, Water, Transport and Advisory sectors.
- Collaborate and liaise with associated engineering disciplines throughout project delivery.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including client meetings.
- Carry out design and calculation work using relevant industry software (e.g. IES, Revit).
- Provide technical expertise, coach and develop junior team members.
- Develop, maintain and monitor programmes for scheduling and reporting of deliverables.
- Maximise project profitability, monitor budgets, anticipate potential problems and communicate in line with client expectations.
Candidate Specification
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree in Building Services Engineering (specialising in mechanical services).
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) or in the process of attaining chartership.
- Experience leading mechanical services on multi‑disciplinary projects.
- Excellent communication skills, including report writing and presentation.
- Experience managing client relationships and expectations in client‑facing meetings.
- Enthusiastic, ambitious, and able to lead on large or portfolio projects.
Desirable
- Experience mentoring and leading graduate engineers.
