Overview of the role: This role offers the opportunity to work in a truly multi-disciplinary environment, giving access to a broad knowledge base with the support of experts across the business. It is anticipated that the role will include supporting the delivery of a broad range of environmental and planning work streams, to deliver integrated planning and environmental services across our project pipeline.
The successful candidate will support the wider Environment and Planning Team through the:
- Preparation, management, and review of multi-disciplinary planning applications, environmental assessments and planning reports for consent applications e.g. constraints / feasibility studies, specialist studies, environmental reports, planning reports
- Project management of planning application and environmental assessment related workstreams including:
- Input into feasibility studies and consenting strategies
- Project tender preparation, evaluation, sub-contractor and project management
- Coordination and technical review of planning application documentation, environmental studies and surveys
- Provide expert advice on planning and environmental requirements relating to proposed development/projects
- Preparation and management of planning and environmental compliance registers from planning permission and other consent related documentation
- Stakeholder management activities (internal and external) including engagement with statutory authorities
- Collaborate and coordinate with other teams across Mott MacDonald to successfully deliver projects in a timely manner
Candidate specification:
- Essential:
- Level 8 Town/Spatial Planning and/or Environmental Science/Engineering or Ecology Degree related equivalent qualification
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience
- Good report writing and communication skills
- Experience contributing to the delivery of statutorily compliant planning application documentation for infrastructure projects
- Experience liaising with stakeholders and prescribed bodies (including pre-planning and EIA)
- Have knowledge, understanding and experience of relevant Irish legislation in relation to planning, policy and guidance and statutory requirements in relation to planning applications
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to work in a team to a high level of performance
