Successful delivery of the role will require you to work in collaboration with all other archaeology team members, the delivery team, and other disciplines ensuring technical consistency is maintained across the team and the SPA programme.
Key responsibilities:
- You will produce archaeological risk maps identifying areas of high, moderate and low risk.

- Work in collaboration with other SAT members and share updates with the team on a regular basis.
- Use the information gathered during the risk-mapping exercise to produce historic environment desk-based assessments.
- Attend site walkovers and visit archives and record offices to gather baseline information.
- Use the information gathered during the risk-mapping and desk-based assessments to inform the design of archaeological surveys and evaluations.
- You will utilise your experience of archaeological fieldwork to inform the design.
A little bit about your skills, experience and behaviours:
This job might be for you if you have:
- The ability to use ArcGIS software to produce mapping and datasets
- Demonstrable experience producing archaeological and historic baselines, impact assessments and deliverable figures.
- A collaborative mindset who facilitates the sharing of historic environment information across project and delivery teams.

- The ability to work flexibly across several projects, and to meet required deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication, and organization/analytical skills.
Our ambition is to build a more inclusive environment. We are committed to celebrating and promoting diversity.
Here at SPA we are looking for extraordinary people who want to help create a place where everyone can thrive and where people are excited to be part of the team. So, whatever your background and however you identify, please apply if you think this role was made for you.
