About the business unit
The Energy unit delivers services to clients globally across several sectors including hydropower, nuclear, waste, renewable generation and transmission & distribution networks. Together we provide integrated engineering and project management services across the project lifecycle – from concept and design to construction and operations, to decommissioning or repowering and life extension. Together with our clients, we’re helping to deliver the energy transition globally.
Overview of the role
Do you want a client‑facing role where you’ll be given the support and autonomy to use your full skill set to solve complex problems? Do you want to work on a diverse portfolio which includes nuclear decommissioning, defence, and other exciting energy and infrastructure projects? If so, our Nuclear: Defence and Civil division are recruiting a Senior Process Engineer to join our fast‑growing team. The role is technically focussed and includes all stages of front end engineering from feasibility to detailed design. You’ll be involved in multi‑discipline projects and be responsible for liaising with clients to develop the best solutions to meet their needs. You’ll produce a range of design and technical documentation, visit client sites as necessary, and pursue and promote further opportunities with the client.
You’ll be responsible for providing quality assurance of others work by surveillance and checking and therefore chartered status is preferred, although demonstration of progress and equivalent experience will be considered:
- Chartered status with the IChemE or other relevant professional body
- Technical chemical/process engineering experience
- Demonstrable experience in process engineering design
- Ability to adapt and work on multiple projects
- Client‑facing experience as well as a commercial awareness of FEED projects
- Able to actively seek input from other engineers, specialists, facility and project team members to improve understanding and deliver fit for purpose solutions.
