Your Opportunity

Within our Energy Networks business we support our clients roll out the largest scale investment in the electrical transmission and distribution infrastructure in decades. You will have the opportunity to work within the following disciplines:

  • Primary plant systems from 11kV to >400kV
  • Protection, control, and secondary systems
  • Cable systems (terrestrial and subsea)
  • Power systems analysis

You will work closely with our experts to provide clients high‑value technical support through all phases of development:

  • Optioneering and cost benefit analysis to support clients in determining the optimum approach to their challenges
  • Front‑End‑Engineering‑Design (FEED) to progress a concept design to a maturity that can be procured, including cost estimation
  • Detailed design for construction, developing complex BIM models in cutting‑edge software environments
  • Construction and operation monitoring to ensure assets are built and operated to design
  • Interface with various global stakeholders ranging from utilities, transmission network operators, EPC contractors, OEMs, investors, developers, and government and regulatory bodies in a fast‑paced environment and take part in high‑profile projects with dynamic challenges

Candidate Specification

At Mott MacDonald, we\’re looking for curious, motivated graduates who want to make a real difference. Join our purpose‑driven teams where your ideas matter, your growth is supported, and your work enhances the world we live in.

To be eligible for this opportunity, you will have less than 12 months\’ relevant experience (excluding placements) and have a degree (obtained no earlier than 2024) or be expected to achieve one of the following degree disciplines:

  • Electrical Engineering
  • Power Systems Engineering

In your application, you should aim to demonstrate your genuine interest in both the opportunity and in joining Mott MacDonald. Highlight any relevant experience or interests—such as modules you\’ve studied, previous work experience, or any research you\’ve undertaken about our company, values, and projects.

Visa & Sponsorship

Mott MacDonald Ltd. are not currently offering sponsorship to candidates under the Skilled Worker visa route in the UK. This decision is a consequence of the changes made to the Skilled Worker route by the UK Government in April 2024.
