Mott MacDonald Bentley (MMB) is a fully integrated design and build business combining the design expertise of Mott MacDonald with the contracting experience of JN Bentley. MMB has partnered with Yorkshire Water since 1999, delivering a wide range of projects—from restoring reservoirs to installing advanced technology for clean drinking water or treating wastewater. The Electrical Engineer Project Leader role merges traditional Project Management and Design Engineering, overseeing projects through the outline and detailed design lifecycle with multi-disciplinary teams.

What does an Electrical Engineer Project Leader do day to day?

  • Collaborate with a Site Manager and Quantity Surveyor to consider technical, constructability and commercial aspects throughout delivery.
  • Lead the design of treatment or infrastructure projects from initial outline to detailed design, through construction, commissioning and handover.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary designers, BIM modelers and technical specialists to ensure designs are delivered on programme, within budget and to defined quality standards.
  • Undertake design work in your discipline and mentor less experienced colleagues where appropriate.
  • Build positive relationships with client project, operational and technical assurance teams, promoting a “one‑team” approach.

What you’ll need:

  • Accredited Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Chartered or Incorporated Member of an Engineering Institution or demonstrable progress towards these goals.
  • Experience of outline and detailed design of water or wastewater projects.
  • Knowledge of the Designer or Principal Designer duties under CDM 2015.
