About the Opportunity
We are looking for a Civil Engineer Project Leader to join Mott MacDonald Bentley (MMB), a joint venture between Mott MacDonald and JN Bentley. This role involves managing water and wastewater projects across the South West of England, specifically around Bournemouth, Poole and South Dorset. MMB has secured a multi‑million‑pound capital delivery partnership with Wessex Water and is set to deliver award‑winning projects through 2030.
Responsibilities
- Act as part of the “project triangle” alongside a Site Manager and Quantity Surveyor to ensure technical, constructability and commercial aspects are considered throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead the design of treatment or infrastructure projects from initial outline, through detailed design, construction, commissioning and handover.
- Coordinate and manage the multidisciplinary project team – civil, electrical, mechanical, process designers, BIM modelers and technical specialists – to deliver quality, budget‑conscious designs on programme.
- Undertake design work within your discipline and mentor less experienced colleagues where appropriate.
- Build positive relationships with client teams and promote a “one‑team” approach.
- Support your own chartership progression and contribute to a fast‑track route to professional recognition.
Qualifications & Experience
- Accredited degree in Civil Engineering.
- Chartered or Incorporated Member of a recognised Engineering Institution, or demonstrable progress towards membership.
- Experience in the outline and detailed design of water or wastewater projects.
- Knowledge of the Designer or Principal Designer duties under CDM 2015.
