Hours of Work: Full Time (37.5 hours per week). Core hours are 09:00 until 17:30, Mon – Fri. 4 days on site, 1 remote.

Join Our Team as a Homologation Engineer at Motorsport UK! The Homologation Engineer will support and contribute to the delivery of Motorsport UK’s technical homologation and regulatory processes, ensuring that applications, documentation and governance activities are managed accurately, efficiently and consistently. The role requires the application of technical understanding and structured problem-solving to support the approval and regulation of competition vehicles, components and equipment, contributing to the safe and fair operation of motorsport in the UK. The role offers the opportunity to develop into a specialist technical position within Motorsport UK’s homologation and regulatory framework.

Primary Objectives

  • Support and contribute to the efficient and accurate processing of homologation applications and technical approvals
  • Maintain and take ownership of defined areas of technical documentation and records to ensure consistency and traceability
  • Support and progressively take ownership of elements of technical governance processes, including committees and working groups
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of technical processes, systems and documentation.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Undertake technical review of homologation applications, with support where required
  • Support and progressively take ownership of defined categories of approvals and documentation
  • Contribute to technical interpretation and decision-making in routine cases
  • Support the preparation, review and update of technical regulations, guidance and supporting documentation
  • Coordinate submissions and documentation for FIA and national homologation processes
  • Provide administrative and coordination support to Technical and Kart Technical Sub Committees (agendas, papers, minutes, actions)
  • Act as a point of contact for routine homologation enquiries, ensuring clear and timely responses
  • Support engagement with manufacturers, suppliers and external stakeholders as required
  • Maintain structured filing and traceability of technical decisions and approvals
  • Identify and propose improvements to homologation processes and workflows
  • Support the development of consistent technical interpretations and guidance.

  • Digital literacy, including experience with structured systems or databases
  • Eligibility to work within the UK.

Desirable Competencies

  • Degree or Level 6 qualification in engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Experience in motorsport, automotive, engineering or regulated technical environments
  • Understanding of technical compliance, approval or certification processes
  • Exposure to working with manufacturers, suppliers or technical stakeholders
  • Familiarity with structured workflows, quality systems or process improvement
  • Exposure to regulatory, compliance or approval-based environments.
