Location: Motorsport UK, Bicester Motion

Hours of Work: Full Time (37.5 hours per week). Core hours are 09:00 until 17:30, Mon – Fri. 4 days on site, 1 remote.

The Club & Volunteer Development Team aims to foster a culture of quality, continuous improvement, teamwork, and high performance by overseeing all learning and development matters relating to volunteer Marshals and Officials, Regions, and Clubs.

The Club & Volunteer Programme Manager supports the delivery of development initiatives that strengthen the capability, sustainability, and effectiveness of Clubs and Volunteers, ensuring that motorsport remains safe, fair, inclusive, and enjoyable for all.

Primary Objectives
  • Lead the continuous development and enhancement of Officials and Marshals pathways in line with Vision 2030, providing structured support from initial entry through to progression and retention.
  • Contribute to the design, delivery, and continual improvement of training programmes that support the development of Motorsport UK clubs, volunteers, and wider stakeholders.
  • Collaborate between the development and operational teams, ensuring clear alignment, shared understanding, and effective end‑to‑end delivery.
  • Support and contribute to the development and integration of a comprehensive Club Toolkit, providing clubs with high‑quality resources, guidance and best‑practice materials to support sustainability and performance.
  • Provide strategic development across Club and Volunteer programmes, contributing to long‑term planning, continuous improvement, and the delivery of organisational priorities.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary point of contact between the Club & Volunteer development team, and Sporting Team to ensure clear, consistent communication.
  • Identify opportunities to improve data collection across clubs and volunteer programmes, ensuring accurate, timely, and meaningful data is provided to the in‑house data analytics team to support insight, reporting, and continuous improvement.
  • Support the planning and delivery of annual Club Workshops, working collaboratively to ensure content is relevant, engaging, and aligned with organisational priorities.
  • Design, deliver and sustain the Young Officials and Cadet Marshal programmes, ensuring they are engaging, effective, and aligned with organisational priorities.
  • Contribute to the development of seminar content, supporting learning and development initiatives for clubs, officials and volunteers.
  • Support initiatives to increase marshal retention, helping to identify challenges, improve engagement, and promote volunteer retention across pathways.
  • Support the delivery and ongoing development of volunteer recognition programmes, ensuring contributions are acknowledged and valued.
  • Develop and maintain resources to support Officials and Marshals pathways, including online learning modules and guidance for Chief Marshals.
  • Provide support to committees, contributing insight, resources, and administrative assistance as required.
  • Support the implementation of new pathways, assisting with rollout, communication, and embedding of changes across the volunteer community.
Core Competencies
  • Demonstrates a deep understanding of the motorsport community, with a minimum of five to ten years’ involvement through a club, volunteer, or similar role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong focus on customer service.
  • Highly methodical, with strong organisational and time‑management capabilities.
  • Proven experience in successfully delivering projects or managing multiple workstreams simultaneously.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel, with strong working knowledge of the wider Microsoft suite, Adobe products, and SharePoint.
  • Experienced in working collaboratively within cross‑functional teams and with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Able to work effectively and independently, demonstrating initiative and accountability.
  • Strong copywriting skills, with the ability to produce clear, engaging, and accurate written content.
  • Demonstrates strong problem‑solving skills, with a logical and analytical approach to challenges.
  • Confident in handling data, analysing information, and producing clear and accurate reports.
  • An ability to work outside of core office hours on a regular basis.
  • A full and clear UK driving licence.
  • Authorisation to work within the UK.
  • Previous experience of working with volunteers.
  • Hold a Motorsport UK officials’ licence.
