Purpose of the Role
As the Stock Control & Warehouse Operative, you will support the operational move in phase of stock items into the Brooklands offsite storage facility. You’ll need to have accuracy in handling, storage, archiving, scrapping, logging, recording movement of merchandise and commercial stock, all heritage items including car parts, assemblies and equipment is essential. The role is focused on maintaining safe, organized and cost-effective storage of our assets. You’ll be supporting lead contacts in commercial and heritage during the move in phase. Data accuracy and operational efficiency is key.
What You’ll Do
- Carry out stock checks and confirm quantities of all items entering the Brooklands facility.
- Ensure every item is accurately logged and fully traceable within the Checkroom system, maintaining data accuracy.
- Support the archiving, culling and rationalisation of parts and assemblies in line with agreed strategies.
- Condense and optimise stock to align with heritage asset needs and commercial requirements.
- Operate forklifts and warehouse equipment safely and in line with training and site rules.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, including layout optimisation, process definition and data quality improvements.
- Adhere to all company policies, health & safety requirements and site procedures.
What You’ll Bring
- Demonstrated experience in a warehouse, logistics or stores environment, and with high value or sensitive stock.
- Forklift licence (counterbalance and/or reach) or willingness to be trained and certified.
- Practical knowledge of warehouse operations including shipping and stock control.
- Previous Checkroom operating system experience is a distinct advantage.
- Basic IT skills with the ability to use inventory or warehouse management systems.
- Good understanding of health & safety requirements in a warehouse environment.
- Knowledge of heritage car parts, assemblies and their handling requirements.
- Ability to recognise part condition, packaging standards and storage constraints.
- Appreciation of the importance of traceability, accuracy and care when handling stock.
