The Technical Analyst plays a critical role in activating and integrating partner technologies within McLaren Racing to deliver authentic, high-impact technical narratives that strengthen joint marketing positioning. This role ensures that technology partnerships are implemented seamlessly, meet contractual obligations, and create meaningful stories that showcase innovation and value.
Purpose of the Role
The Technical Analyst plays a critical role in activating and integrating partner technologies within McLaren Racing to deliver authentic, high-impact technical narratives that strengthen joint marketing positioning. This role ensures that technology partnerships are implemented seamlessly, meet contractual obligations, and create meaningful stories that showcase innovation and value.
Working across the full partner ecosystem, the Technical Analyst will:
- Enable Technology Integration: Collaborate with partners and internal teams to onboard and deploy partner technologies, ensuring smooth implementation and operational excellence.
- Drive Authentic Technical Storytelling: Translate technical capabilities into compelling narratives that align with McLaren Racing’s brand and marketing objectives.
- Support Strategic Initiatives: Contribute to new projects that activate partner technologies and enhance joint marketing opportunities.
Key collaborations include:
- Partnerships Team: Define and deliver technical integrations that reinforce brand positioning and marketing campaigns.
- Business Development Team: Provide technical insight during prospecting to identify category opportunities and ensure new partnerships enable credible technology stories.
- Communications Team: Ensure partner technology narratives are accurate, authentic, and effectively highlight innovation.
- McLaren Racing IT Team: Coordinate delivery of new capabilities and guarantee seamless rollout and support for partner technologies.
Principal Accountabilities
- Partner Technology Activation: Lead the onboarding and integration of partner technologies into McLaren Racing’s ecosystem, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and technical standards. Analyse business processes and existing tech usage to understand requirements and inform recommendations for effective technology solutions. Coordinate technical implementation plans, timelines, and resource requirements for partner activations.
- Technical Storytelling & Marketing Alignment: Translate complex technical capabilities into clear, compelling narratives that support marketing campaigns and brand positioning. Collaborate with communications and partnerships teams to ensure technical stories are authentic and aligned with McLaren Racing’s innovation ethos. Record and evaluate the impact of activities and technology integrations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the technical liaison between partners and internal teams (IT, partnerships, business development, communications) to deliver seamless technology rollouts. Provide technical input during partner prospecting and deal negotiations to validate feasibility and storytelling potential.
- Governance & Compliance: Monitor and ensure partner technology deployments meet security, compliance, and performance standards. Maintain accurate documentation of technical integrations and partner technology usage. Facilitate workshops, meetings, and training sessions as required.
- Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance partner activations through emerging technologies and best practices. Support initiatives that improve integration processes and elevate the technical marketing narrative. Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to contribute to technology roadmaps, business development processes, and advise on commercial viability.
- Performance Measurement Optimisation: Track and report on the success of partner technology activations, including technical performance and contribution to marketing objectives. Provide insights and recommendations for optimisation based on data and feedback.
Job Requirements
- Knowledge, Skills and Experience: Hands-on experience with software tools, frameworks, and integration techniques. Ability to quickly learn new software and applications. Comfortable with software configuration tasks and administration. Able to provide technical guidance and support to ensure smooth integration of new technologies and tools. Ability to explain technical concepts in a clear, user-friendly way, tailored appropriately to the audience. Commercial awareness with the ability to align technology solutions to business goals and market opportunities. Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging a broad range of audiences. Analytical and problem-solving abilities, including ability to analyse data and software-related issues. Strong critical and strategic thinking skills. Outstanding communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. Experience with technical collaborations both internally and externally. Ability to manage tasks and workstreams in parallel and plan work accordingly. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Experience as a Business Analyst, Product Owner or Product Manager.
