About the Role
As a Race Engineer, you’ll be the technical leader for car performance across testing and events. You’ll work directly with the driver, performance group, reliability engineering, strategy and mechanics to deliver a fast, reliable and well-managed race car. You’ll own the engineering communication loop, make live decisions under pressure and be responsible for the quality and speed of engineering execution. This is a senior, highly influential role within the programme.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading all engineering decisions for the car across test, practice, qualifying and race.
- Running driver communication, feedback loops and performance delivery.
- Managing setup direction, run plans, correlation and performance development.
- Working with Performance Engineering on data, modelling and optimisation.
- Leading garage execution with the No1 Mechanic and technical team.
- Coordinating with Strategists on stint plans, tyre life, fuel windows and race threats.
- Producing high-quality engineering documentation, debriefs and reporting.
- Monitoring reliability risks, system behaviours and engineering concerns in real time.
- Acting as the central point of truth for car performance and operational decisions.
