Visa Cash App Racing Bulls Formula 1 Team is one of two Red Bull-owned Formula 1 teams. Today’s Formula 1 calls for a high level of specialist skills in every area. We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Software Developer to lead the design, development, and optimisation of high-performance software solutions that support critical systems across both factory and race operations. The role will also be responsible for ensuring that IT software — particularly factory and trackside tools — is properly maintained, regularly updated, and continuously enhanced through the introduction of new features, ensuring reliable and effective application across the business.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-performance software solutions supporting factory and race operations;
  • Develop tools to enhance data acquisition, analysis, and visualization;
  • Optimize code performance and ensure low-latency communication between systems;
  • Write and maintain documentation, version control, and testing processes ensuring alignment with the Team’s development standards;
  • Support users in case of problems with software developed in the department, reply to calls or tickets;
  • Constantly improve and fix the software developed within the department, in particular factory and trackside IT tools;
  • Collect the enhancement requests from the departments and manage requests according to business needs and priorities.

Collaboration and Professionalism

  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments and IT infrastructure teams to integrate software into the Team’s technical ecosystem;
  • Communicate effectively with external and internal groups such as suppliers, consultants, colleagues, etc.;
  • Provide flexible attendance and attitude to work, both in line with the requirements of the role and any specific requirements of the projects.

  • Support continuous improvement and innovation across software platforms and workflows;
  • Contribute to software architecture discussions and technology strategy.

Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field;
  • Extensive professional experience in software development, preferably in web development or high-performance environments;
  • Experience in motorsport, automotive, or HPC (High Performance Computing) environments is highly desirable;
  • Strong proficiency with JavaScript, Svelte, React or C# (experience with multiple languages is an advantage);
  • Experience with relational databases (management and query), data streaming, and API development (REST or GraphQL);
  • Solid understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and DevOps principles;
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with high attention to detail and code quality;
  • Use and manage source control systems (e.g., Git, GitHub) to maintain code integrity and versioning;
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (mainly Azure) and CI/CD pipelines;
  • Passionate about technology, performance, and innovation in motorsport;
  • Able to work efficiently and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment, ensuring high quality of work;
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills;
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability;
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and solution-driven mindset;
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written).
