We are currently looking for a motivated Senior Buyer to join our UK team in Milton Keynes.
In this role you will manage procurement activities for the assigned commodity (aero parts) with a high degree of autonomy, ensuring compliance with quality, cost and delivery targets and full alignment with the strategy and guidelines defined by the Lead Buyer. The role focuses on category optimization, supplier performance improvement and market scouting for the assigned role.
Purchasing- Execute end-to-end purchasing activities for the assigned commodity based on project and production needs.
- Issue purchase orders ensuring adherence to delivery schedules, quality requirements and cost targets.
- Conduct RFQs, analyse offers, negotiate prices and commercial terms, and manage order fulfilment.
- Monitor supplier performance (QCD) for the assigned scope and implement corrective actions within remit, escalating major issues to the Lead Buyer.
- Perform supplier scouting and support supplier audits in line with the department strategy.
- Maintain accurate reporting and KPIs for the assigned commodity and provide regular updates to the Lead Buyer.
- Work closely with aero planning and other departments to define criticalities and priorities.
- Suggest, investigate, (and where applicable) implement new methods and processes.
- Provide flexible attendance and attitude to work, both in line with the requirements of the role and any specific requirements of the projects.
- Work in a professional manner at all times regardless of the task set and be pro‑active in promoting a positive image for the department/team/sponsors.

Experience
- Degree level in Engineering preferred.
- Extensive purchasing experience in Motorsport/Aerospace/Automotive (or comparable high-precision industries).
- Proficient in reading and understanding mechanical technical drawings.
- Experience in prototype management processes and workflows.
- Strong commercial, analytical and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of mechanical components; basic understanding of composites.
- Proficiency MS Office (Excel in particular).
- Resilience, attention to detail, teamwork and problem‑solving attitude.
