We are looking for an Electronics Technician to join the Onboard Camera team at Formula 1. Reporting to the Senior Onboard Camera Manager, this role will maintain, develop, and install the Onboard Camera system, ensuring it meets high standards.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain and help develop the OBC system, ensuring it remains in the highest working order and all aspects of the system meet the standards required to run safely and reliably on a Formula One car.
- Service all relevant electronic and mechanical components between races, either at Biggin Hill or at the circuit, ensuring that each part of the system is in optimum condition before being used again at the next race.
- Once fully trained, install the OBC system on to each Formula One and Support Series cars, ensuring it conforms to the highest levels of safety.
- Assist in the Broadcast Centre at races, fault-finding and repairing the Onboard Camera system and helping to provide high-quality footage for the FOM TV output.
- Maintain stock levels as per BOC requirements.
- Take part in pre-season testing of OBC ‘on-car’ installations, which may involve visiting teams or attending pre-season tests.
- Build, design and dismantle the OBC workshop at every F1 event whenever necessary.
- Operate safely at all times in line with Company health and safety requirements.
- Undertake other duties within your capabilities, as your manager may assign from time to time (including work in the Broadcast Centre or in the Pit Lane).
