As a Composites Technician on the McLaren Hypercar Programme, you will produce, repair, finish and maintain carbon components that operate at the highest level of endurance racing.

You will work across pre‑preg components, structural repairs, laminating, trim/fit and trackside repairs under extreme time pressure. Your workmanship becomes part of a world‑class race car — and your standards must match that level.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Completing composite repairs: structural, cosmetic, bonded joints, inserts and crash damage.
  • Trimming, drilling, profiling and finishing parts to drawing specification.
  • Laminating and repair prep (pre‑preg, core materials, adhesives).
  • Working closely with mechanics, engineers and build teams to ensure perfect fit and alignment.
  • Conducting trackside composite repairs under pressure and on tight turnarounds.
  • Managing consumables, materials, traceability and documentation.
  • Ensuring components meet safety, dimensional and structural criteria before sign‑off.
  • Maintaining a clean, controlled environment and correctly handling composite materials.
