M-Sport UK is a world‑leading motorsport engineering company, responsible for designing, building and running championship‑winning rally cars at the highest level of international competition. We are now seeking a Junior Electrical Design Engineer to join our growing Electrical Design team. This role would suit a motivated graduate or early‑career engineer looking to develop their skills within a fast‑paced, high‑performance environment.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Delivering innovative electrical engineering solutions.
- Designing advanced models and drawings of a variety of electrical components and wiring assemblies.
- Verifying designs through own calculations, analysis and CAE.
- Working alongside our Electrical Technicians with testing and evaluating new electrical components.
- Creating real or CAD mock‑up installations.
- Producing electrical component test procedures, assembly procedures and manufacturing Codes of Practice for Electrical Technicians.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for a self‑motivated team player with a positive and enthusiastic attitude. The ideal candidate will be:
- Educated to MEng or BEng degree level in Electrical, Motorsport, or Automotive Engineering, and have good knowledge of 3D CAD, preferably CATIA V5.
- Have fundamental knowledge of electrical systems and materials.
- Have meticulous attention to detail and a practical approach to problem solving.
- Excellent interpersonal, relationship and team building skills, and share our determination to deliver the very best results.
- Pride yourself on delivering a high standard of performance and quality whilst working to strict deadlines in a time‑sensitive environment.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Previous work experience in a Design Office setting on an industrial placement year, or hands‑on practical experience (either volunteering on race weekends or formula student) would be beneficial.
