The People Business Partner is a strategic advisor to business-area leadership accountable for driving the Williams People Strategy and shaping an elite, high-performance culture aligned to our values & behaviours.

Partnering closely with business-area leaders and the wider People function, the PBP translates business-area goals and challenges, into customer-focused People strategies and executable plans.

The role works cross functionally to deliver seamless execution of in our People Plan and maximise impact in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.

Act as a trusted business partner to business-area managers and leaders, building effective and trusted partnerships to enable the successful delivery of the People Plan.

  • Develop management capability using the Williams Values & Behaviours framework to furtherstrengthen our high-performance culture at all levels of the organisation.
  • Advise, coach and empower managers and employees to drive employee engagement action plans and a high-performance culture.
  • Work with business-area leadership to identify skills and capability gaps to develop future focussed workforce strategies.

Partner with the Finance department and Early Careers to create and implement effective workforce planning processes to address future capability needs.

  • Support people planning and review processes, including talent review, capability development and succession planning, providing sufficient challenge to business-area leaders, and engaging with the Talent and Leadership function on training needs identification, and solutions that improve talent development and retention.
  • Use people analytics and an understanding of cost cap requirements to anticipate talent risks, identify cost optimisation opportunities and guide decision making on organisation design.
  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition team and business-area leadership on talent mapping/resourcing to ensure a healthy pipeline of industry appropriate talent aligned to the future workforce plan.
  • Partner with managers to promote and facilitate effective delivery of key people processes; including,
  • End of Year Reviews, OKR creation and Salary Review to drive business performance.
  • Use internal and external data and insights to support objective decision-making within client areas; working with the Shared Service Centre team to optimise effective use of Workday data.
  • Partner with the Employee Relations team to effectively support managers to resolve all types and levels of ER cases aligned to our guiding ER principles and People Strategy.
  • Collaborate with Centres of Excellence to elevate the end-to-end employee experience and embed innovative, customer-focused, and future-ready solutions that drive a culture of sustainable high performance in our mission to win multiple world championships.

Qualifications

  • Previous HRBP experience, ideally in a high-performance technical/manufacturing organisation, with a proven track record of working with managers and team members to deliver Peopleinitiatives and plans within a fast-paced multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Demonstrated experience using analytics to drive people and business decisions.
  • Strong coaching, influence, and relationship-building skills.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving organisational change.
  • CIPD Level 5 (Or Equivalent)
