We are looking for a Telemetry Engineer (T&OC) to join our Track Systems team. Reporting into our Track Systems Engineering Manager, this role will plan, deploy, commission, and run the F1 telemetry system.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and take ownership during events for the deployment, commissioning, operation, and decommissioning of radio frequency installations across Grand Prix circuits, ensuring reliable communication between on‑car systems and trackside infrastructure.
- Provide hands‑on support for trackside systems (FIA marshalling, telemetry, data acquisition, and timing), as well as paddock systems and F1 team integration, ensuring all issues are logged, tracked, and driven to resolution.
- Configure, maintain, and support broadcast and IT systems enabling the distribution of onboard video multicasts and telemetry data to clients.
- Monitor and analyse system performance, proactively identifying faults, performance degradation, and opportunities for optimisation.
- Maintain and optimise telemetry and on‑car systems, ensuring reliable and high‑performance operation of all client‑facing hardware and supporting infrastructure.
- Configure and monitor on‑car hardware devices, proactively identifying and resolving issues to maintain the integrity and functionality of downstream products.
- Apply F1 processes to ensure systems meet performance, quality, and reliability standards, actively resolving issues and driving continuous improvement.
- Plan and deliver race event preparation activities, coordinating with relevant F1 departments to ensure high‑quality execution within defined timescales.
- Stay informed on emerging technologies and industry best practices, identifying and advocating for improvements through appropriate channels.
- Maintain accurate equipment inventories and manifests, coordinating with freight teams to ensure timely and accurate logistics and shipment.
- Manage hardware lifecycle, issue resolution, and ongoing system optimisation in line with F1 processes and performance requirements.
- Commit to attending up to 70% of F1 events, supporting installation, commissioning, and operation of systems on‑site.
Other:
- Collaborate with QMO and PMO, aligning Telemetry & On‑car systems with requirements, processes and activities.
- Provide technical input on the design and development of future systems.
- Propose solutions that deliver faster, better, stronger for all aspects of our obligations.

Qualifications
Not essential to be successful in the role but you may also have the following qualifications:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent vocational and industry experience in electronics engineering (or suitable equivalent, such as mechatronics).
Experience
Prior to the role it would be essential that you:
- Have a minimum of 3+ years’ experience working within complex operational environments, interfacing with software and/or electronic systems.
- Have strong knowledge and experience in systems engineering, including the integration and operation of complex systems.
- Have a solid understanding of RF principles and the challenges associated with high‑performance operational environments.
Some desirable experience that you may bring to the role:
- Strong problem‑solving capability and can work effectively under time‑critical and high‑pressure conditions.
- Well‑developed planning skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to produce clear and comprehensive technical documentation, including requirements specifications, test plans, and test reports.
- Experience working with networking and serial communication protocols, video encoding, data transmission technologies, and RF systems.
Knowledge & Skills
Prior to the role it is essential that you demonstrate:
- Experience within F1 or another high‑level motorsport environment.
- Ability to travel extensively internationally.
- Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills enabling clear communication with multiple internal/external stakeholders.
