The predicted salary is between 40000 - 50000 £ per year.

You will be developing software solutions for the Aerodynamics department, working directly with engineers across a broad spectrum of disciplines: aerodynamic design, mechanical design, manufacturing, wind tunnel testing and data analysis. You will be working across the full software stack from database to user interface and you will be directly responsible for significant features from requirement gathering through to testing and deployment.

Key responsibilities

  • Design, implement, test, and maintain custom software tools for the Aerodynamics department, delivering robust and scalable solutions that support engineering performance.
  • Take full ownership of tasks and projects from concept through to deployment, driving the successful delivery of capabilities to end users with accountability for quality, timelines, and outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, aerodynamicists, and technical stakeholders to gather requirements, define solutions, and translate business needs into effective software systems.
  • Develop and support applications across the full software stack, including databases, backend services, APIs, and user-facing interfaces.
  • Advocate for and apply software engineering best practices, including version control, code reviews, automated testing, documentation, maintainability, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead troubleshooting, optimisation, and enhancement of existing systems to improve reliability, usability, and performance.
  • Contribute technical expertise within a fast-paced, collaborative engineering environment, supporting both ongoing operational needs and future innovation.

What do you need to bring to the team?

  • A technical degree in Engineering, Maths, Science or Computer Science.
  • Proven programming skills using C# and/or Python and associated technologies.
  • Proven experience working with SQL databases, ideally SQL Server.
  • Demonstrable experience delivering software solutions in a technical or engineering environment, ideally gained through a graduate programme or equivalent industry experience.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical users.
  • A proactive, adaptable and pragmatic mindset to succeed in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
