Motors & Cazoo is the ultimate destination for car enthusiasts and buyers alike! As a leader in the market, we pride ourselves on providing unparalleled search tools, expert car guides, insightful reviews, and a comprehensive vehicle price guide. Our mission is simple: to empower buyers to find their perfect car efficiently and with confidence, while also helping automotive retailers reach millions of eager buyers.
We are currently seeking an Automotive Content Creator and Editor. The role plays a pivotal part in shaping the voice, storytelling, and visual impact of our automotive marketplace. Sitting at the heart of the Marketing team, this role combines expert editorial skills with creativity and digital‑first thinking. You’ll be responsible for producing and refining high‑quality written and video content that informs, inspires, and engages car buyers and dealers across multiple channels.
About the role
- Video, social‑first content & campaigns: Own the full content journey from idea to impact, working with agencies, freelancers, creators, influencers and in‑house designers from concept and briefing through production, approvals, publishing and post‑campaign analysis.
- Lead platform‑first creative across TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, Facebook and emerging formats — content made for the feed, not adapted as an afterthought.
- Develop and lead content‑led campaigns that work across multiple platforms, building a clear narrative and maximising reach through smart channel optimisation.
- Build and grow all social channels, with a focus on TikTok and YouTube, create communities people actively choose to follow — not just watch once and scroll past.
- Create story‑led content that drives awareness, conversation and cultural relevance, aligned to our brand strategy and challenger positioning.
- Lead creative input for paid and boosted social campaigns, from briefing and concept development through to working within‑house teams and media and creative agencies to adapt, extend and optimise content for paid formats across platforms.
- Provide hands‑on creative direction across scripts, edits, pacing, hooks, visuals, music, animation and storytelling to maximise engagement.
- Lead the influencer and creator programme, working with agencies, platforms, influencers, content creators and dealers.
- Spot trends early and instinctively know which are worth acting on — and how to make them feel on‑brand, not try‑hard.
- Constantly experiment with formats, tones and storytelling techniques: fast tests, fast learning, fast iteration.
- Partner closely with the Marketing Manager to deliver standout social content with real commercial and brand impact, not vanity metrics.
- Use performance data from organic and paid activity, use insight to continuously refine creative, formats and messaging across campaigns, understand what’s working.
- Keep the content engine running smoothly by managing video and image assets so everything is organised, accessible and ready to move quickly.
Written & editorial content:
- Lead on all creative written content: writing, editing, refreshing and proofreading high‑quality copy across PR, blogs and editorial features, social copy and captions, press releases, email and CRM campaigns, and internal communications where needed.
- Support teams across the business with day‑to‑day copywriting and creative briefs for campaigns, launches and brand moments.
- Stay close to shifts in culture, technology and consumer behaviour to keep content fresh, relevant and commercially smart.
B2B Content:
- Create high‑quality B2B content alongside B2C activity, ensuring a consistent but appropriately tailored brand voice.
- Produce video, written and campaign content for dealers and partners, including case studies, testimonials, ambassador programmes and social‑first assets.
- Support commercial and internal stakeholders with strong storytelling that brings propositions, proof points and customer success to life.
Standards, optimisation & future‑facing thinking:
- Act as a guardian of brand voice and editorial quality, ensuring consistency, clarity and confidence across everything we publish.
- Quality control: review all content to ensure it’s error‑free, on‑brand, compliant and fit for purpose.
- Analyse performance across content and SEO to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
- Explore and use new and emerging AI tools to improve speed, output and effectiveness — without losing creative judgement or human tone.
What we’re looking for:
- Are ideas‑led, not budget‑led — you know how to make smart, simple ideas land hard.
- Are comfortable working autonomously and taking ownership without waiting for permission.
- Have strong creative instincts and can defend your ideas — but are equally happy killing them if the data says so.
- Understand social platforms deeply and know the difference between content that exists and content that performs.
- Can write sharp, engaging copy that sounds human, confident and challenger — not corporate.
- Are organised enough to juggle multiple projects, formats and deadlines without sacrificing quality.
- Are curious, culturally switched‑on and plugged into what people actually watch, share and talk about.
Experience:
- Proven experience in a B2C content, creative editor or social‑first role.
- Strong portfolio of video and written content (social‑first work essential).
- Experience working with agencies, creators or freelancers.
- Comfortable using performance data and insight to shape creative decisions.
- Automotive experience is a bonus — strong creative instincts matter more.
