The Role: PDI Technician

Salary: £14.65 per hour + bonus

Location: Widnes

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: 42.5 hours, 5 days out of 7 on a rota - weekend working will be required.

As a Pre‑Delivery Inspection (PDI) Technician, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our vehicles are mechanically prepared and ready for handover.

What you will be doing:

  • Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs to manufacturer standards
  • Inspect vehicles and diagnose faults to meet Motorpoint’s quality benchmarks
  • Follow our PDI process, including conducting road tests, to ensure readiness for handover
  • Complete documentation accurately and support vehicle movements as needed
  • Maintain a clean, safe workspace and collaborate with colleagues across departments
  • Champion health and safety and contribute to a positive team culture
  • Carry out any other ad hoc tasks as required

What we need from you:

  • A full UK driving licence is essential
  • A minimum Level 2 motor trade qualification
  • EV qualification is desirable – but we’ll support you with training if needed
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to spot issues during inspections
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • A team player who can also work independently
  • Motivation to meet performance goals and uphold quality standards
  • Organised and efficient in managing workload and priorities
  • Commitment to safety and maintaining a tidy workspace
