The Role: Software Engineer
Location: This is a hybrid role, combining remote work with regular collaboration in our Derby office at least three days per week. (Applicants must have the right to work in the UK as we are unable to offer visa sponsorship).
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours per week. (Monday - Friday)
Responsibilities
We are looking for an experienced software engineer to join our talented and innovative Engineering team working on the Motorpoint.co.uk website. As a member of the team, you will be responsible for streamlining and enhancing the car buying journey for our customers. User experience and performance are critical and every millisecond counts. With spikes of around half a million requests per second across the eco-system, weβre looking for someone who is comfortable writing and optimising large scale, customer facing applications.
Essential Skills
- At least 3 years commercial experience writing web applications
- Experience of working with a cloud provider (AWS / Azure)
- Experience of working with version control software (Git / Azure DevOps)
- Experience of working in Agile environments
- React / Next.js
- CSS / Sass
- SQL Server
- Experience of working with a CMS (Content Management System)
- Experience of working with a unit testing framework
Desirable Skills
- .NET / C#
- SQL Server
- Rabbit MQ
