MOT Tester/Technician – Widnes
Motorpoint, the UK’s leading omnichannel car retailer of nearly new cars, is looking for a skilled MOT Tester / Technician to join our team in Widnes.
Role Purpose
You will play a key role in a team of Technicians and Preparation Assistants in ensuring that all vehicles are prepared to the Motorpoint Standard, delivering excellent levels of customer service at every step.
Responsibilities
- Carry out pre‑delivery inspections of vehicles and ensure that they are prepared to the Motorpoint standard ahead of customer collection.
- Perform MOT tests where required.
- Carry out repair work on vehicles where necessary ensuring that all work meets Motorpoint\’s quality standard.
- Liaise with both Customer Experience and Sales teams to ensure that vehicles flow through our process smoothly and our customers receive an outstanding level of service.
- Ensure that DVSA standards and health & safety regulations are met.
What we\’re looking for
- DVSA accreditation as an MOT Tester.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Good knowledge of current MOT testing regulations and procedures.
- Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving skills with the ability to identify and rectify defects efficiently.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy in completing paperwork and documentation.
- Effective communication skills to interact with customers and team members.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Basic computer literacy for completing digital documentation.
- Strong time‑management skills to ensure timely completion of tests and inspections.
- Adaptability to handle a diverse range of vehicles and testing scenarios.
- A commitment to upholding ethical standards and ensuring the integrity of the testing process.
