The Role: Warranty Technician

Location: Birtley

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: 42.5 hours across 5 days (Monday to Friday)

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and resolve advanced faults using OEM diagnostic platforms and tools.
  • Perform major mechanical repairs including engine and gearbox replacements.
  • Conduct root‑cause analysis and ensure repairs meet manufacturer standards.
  • Use specialist equipment (oscilloscopes, multi‑meters, smoke testers) for accurate testing.
  • Complete final road tests, re‑calibrations, and system resets.
  • Accurately document all findings and repairs for warranty submissions.
  • Liaise with customers to explain diagnostics and build trust.
  • Support MOT testing and Pre‑Delivery Inspections when needed.
  • Mentor junior technicians and share best practices.
  • Maintain workshop standards and compliance with DVSA and Health & Safety.

Qualifications:

  • IMI Level 3 (or equivalent) qualified technician.
  • Proven experience in advanced vehicle repairs and diagnostics.
  • Strong communication skills, especially when dealing with customers.
  • High level of accuracy in administration and documentation.
  • MOT testing qualification (or willingness to support in this area).
  • A proactive, reliable team player who takes pride in their work.
