The Role: PDI Technician
Salary: £13.90 per hour basic + Bonus
Location: Birmingham
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: 42.5 hours, 5 days out of 7 on a rota - weekend working will be required.
As a Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) Technician, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our vehicles are mechanically prepared and ready for handover – helping us to achieve our vision of being the car buyers champion!
What will you be getting up to?
- Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs to manufacturer standards
- Inspect vehicles and diagnose faults to meet Motorpoint’s quality benchmarks
- Follow our PDI process, including conducting road tests, to ensure readiness for handover
- Complete documentation accurately and support vehicle movements as needed
- Maintain a clean, safe workspace and collaborate with colleagues across departments
- Champion health and safety and contribute to a positive team culture
- Carry out any other ad hoc tasks as required
What do we need from you?
- A full UK driving licence is essential
- A minimum Level 2 motor trade qualification
- EV qualification is desirable – but don’t worry, we’ll support you with training if needed
- Strong attention to detail and ability to spot issues during inspections
- Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- A team player who can also work independently
- Motivation to meet performance goals and uphold quality standards
- Organised and efficient in managing workload and priorities
- Commitment to safety and maintaining a tidy workspace
- Willingness to support other sites when needed
