The Role: Warranty Technician

Salary: OTE Β£40,000 – Β£45,000

Location: Edinburgh

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: 45 hours, 5 days out of 7 on a rota – weekend working will be required.

Are you a highly skilled technician with a passion for precision and problem solving? We’re looking for an experienced Warranty Technician to join our team, someone who thrives on complex repairs, values accuracy in documentation, and enjoys making a real difference to customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve advanced faults using OEM diagnostic platforms and tools.
  • Perform major mechanical repairs including engine and gearbox replacements.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and ensure repairs meet manufacturer standards.
  • Use specialist equipment (oscilloscopes, multi-meters, smoke testers) for accurate testing.
  • Complete final road tests, re-calibrations, and system resets.
  • Accurately document all findings and repairs for warranty submissions.
  • Liaise with customers to explain diagnostics and build trust.
  • Support MOT testing and Pre-Delivery Inspections when needed.
  • Mentor junior technicians and share best practices.
  • Maintain workshop standards and compliance with DVSA and Health & Safety.

Qualifications

  • IMI Level 3 (or equivalent) qualified technician.
  • Proven experience in advanced vehicle repairs and diagnostics.
  • Strong communication skills, especially when dealing with customers.
  • High level of accuracy in administration and documentation.
  • MOT testing qualification (or willingness to support in this area).
  • A proactive, reliable team player who takes pride in their work.
