Our workshops are a key department on every site and we are looking for a Workshop Supervisor to supervise the workshop reporting into the Preparation Manager.
As a Workshop Supervisor here at Motorpoint, you will help us to shake off all those outdated car industry clichés and help us drive into the fast lane towards becoming the most desired car retailer.
- Let us tell you a little bit about what you will be doing
- Supporting the preparation operations and team to prepare vehicles for site display and customer collection
- Coaching, leading and developing the Workshop team.
- To ensure low level of issues such as price boards, preparation issues are identified during the Buyer's pitch visit
- Ensuring work is allocated to individuals and productivity is maintained whilst maintaining quality
- Maintain good administrative procedures and filing of relevant documents
- Working closely with sub contractors on site and maintaining a good relationship
- Assisting your line manager in their duties related to workshop management
- Liaise with sales team members and assist where necessary
- Carry out all duties in line with the company's health and safety policies and procedures, and the safe to work instructions
- Assist the team to carry out PDI inspections and repair vehicles as part of the workshop team
- Due to the nature of the role you will need a full, clean driving licence

We are looking for someone who has a proven track record in a similar role, in particular workshop control, quality control and managing logistics along with people management and leadership experience.
This role will require you to be well organised, have a methodical approach to workload with the ability to manage several processes and tasks at the same time.
You'd be required to be IT literate with working knowledge of Outlook and Excel.

What do we need from you?
- A full UK driving licence is essential
- A minimum Level 2 motor trade qualification with the ability to demonstrate mechanical knowledge and experience.
- EV qualification is desirable - but don't worry, we'll support you with training if needed
- Supervisor experience in a workshop/warehouse environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to spot issues during inspections
- Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- A team player who can also work independently
- Motivation to meet performance goals and uphold quality standards
- Organised and efficient in managing workload and priorities
- Commitment to safety and maintaining a tidy workspace
- Willingness to support other sites when needed
