The Role: Warranty Technician
Salary: OTE £40,000 - £45,000
Location: Oldbury
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: 42.5 hours across 5 days (Monday to Friday)
Are you a highly skilled technician with a passion for precision and problem solving? We’re looking for an experienced Warranty Technician to join our team, someone who thrives on complex repairs, values accuracy in documentation, and enjoys making a real difference to customer satisfaction.
What will you be getting up to?
- Diagnose and resolve advanced faults using OEM diagnostic platforms and tools.
- Perform major mechanical repairs including engine and gearbox replacements.
- Conduct root cause analysis and ensure repairs meet manufacturer standards.
- Use specialist equipment (oscilloscopes, multi-meters, smoke testers) for accurate testing.
- Complete final road tests, re-calibrations, and system resets.
- Accurately document all findings and repairs for warranty submissions.
- Liaise with customers to explain diagnostics and build trust.
- Support MOT testing and Pre-Delivery Inspections when needed.
- Mentor junior technicians and share best practices.
- Maintain workshop standards and compliance with DVSA and Health & Safety.
What we’re looking for:
- IMI Level 3 (or equivalent) qualified technician.
- Proven experience in advanced vehicle repairs and diagnostics.
- Strong communication skills, especially when dealing with customers.
- High level of accuracy in administration and documentation.
- MOT testing qualification (or willingness to support in this area).
- A proactive, reliable team player who takes pride in their work.
