Salary: £46,150 per annum

Location: Hybrid/Derby (Applicants must have the right to work in the UK as we are unable to offer visa sponsorship)

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday - Friday)

Reporting to the Information Security Manager, the role will require in-depth understanding of information & cyber security, technology architecture and business security. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to further establish their IT Security knowledge and skills in an environment that provides autonomy and support in equal measure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working with the Information Security Team to implement items on the cybersecurity strategy and maintain an ongoing programme of security testing.
  • Identify weaknesses or failures in Information Security and drive appropriate improvements.
  • Work with the platform engineering, business operations and delivery functions to guide and ensure security principles/procedures are understood and applied consistently.
  • Working with our security partner to maintain the security strategy and components of the service to deliver a best in class posture.
  • Owning the Data Loss Prevention project to ensure the business handles data securely and applying classification labels.
  • Managing our breach and attack simulation tool and its modules to ensure penetration testing activities are performed and results prioritised for remediation.
  • Deliver security awareness on a monthly basis with our collaborative partner.
  • Advising on our Security First posture as part of the security team, collaborating closely with peers to ensure that security is built into everything we do.
  • Support with cyber incidents, following established playbooks.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritise your workload and work to demanding deadlines.

What We Need From You

  • Must have a broad knowledge of a wide range of Information Technology systems and a deep understanding of the inherent security risks associated with these technologies.
  • Must have extensive experience implementing and maintaining industry leading security tools.
  • Good understanding of security controls within cloud environments & infrastructure, including AWS, Azure and 365 (E5 experience desirable).
  • Experience working in a Cyber Essentials environment (desirable).
  • Excellent communication & reporting skills.
  • Demonstrable experience in protecting an organisation against threat actors.
  • An understanding of infosec best practices and approaches such as OWASP.
  • Hands‑On Network Security would be advantageous.
  • Degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science and/or relevant experience (4+ Years).
  • Professional certification (CompTIA Security+, other industry certifications).
