Job Description

We are seeking an ambitious, technically minded Systems Engineer to join our Guardian Mobile delivery team. Designed for a high-performing graduate, this role offers the opportunity to take technical ownership of complex infrastructure, systems integration, and deployment environments for strategic blue-light emergency services customers across the UK.

At Motorola Solutions, we foster a people-first culture that empowers you to explore your potential, innovate what's next, and grow your career. Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience is valued.

  • Capture customer operational requirements and translate them into robust, high-availability technical system architecture

  • Ensure new infrastructure features and platform integrations align with core product engineering designs

Enterprise Integration & Infrastructure

  • Partner with customer IT and infrastructure leads to integrate systems securely into complex client environment architectures

  • Apply rigorous, risk-averse engineering principles to validate high-availability configurations and failover architectures

Technical Documentation & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Produce and maintain comprehensive technical documentation detailing system-level designs, interface specifications, and implementation patterns

  • Act as a primary technical point of contact, liaising confidently with customers, internal engineering teams, and third-party suppliers

  • Align project delivery with Agile software delivery methodologies and modern DevOps practices

Basic Requirements

  • First-Class or 2:1 Degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Systems Architecture, IT, or an engineering discipline

  • Language Proficiency to demonstrate an excellent command of English in written and verbal technical communications

Professional Experience

  • Technical Troubleshooting to analyze complex software or infrastructure issues and drive structured root-cause resolution

  • Technical Stakeholder Management to translate enterprise architecture concepts into clear language for technical and non-technical audiences

  • Agile & DevOps to participate in modern software development and collaborative deployment workflows

Preferred Qualifications (Optional)

  • Industrial placement year or internship experience within an enterprise systems engineering, infrastructure, or software deployment environment

  • Exposure to or familiarity with UK blue-light (Police, Fire, Ambulance) agencies, control room operations, or Mobile Data Terminal (MDT) software
