We are looking for a skilled Mobile Automation Engineer to join our team in Edinburgh. The role involves building and evolving a high‑performance, reliable real‑time video management platform.

Responsibilities
- Mission‑Critical Quality Assurance: directly contribute to public safety and enterprise security by executing and assuring the quality of cutting‑edge solutions.
- Support Quality Benchmarks: work with senior engineers to support continuous quality benchmarks for real‑time systems and new AI features.
- Develop and Maintain Test Suites: develop, maintain, and execute automated tests within existing frameworks (e.g., TypeScript/Playwright) across UI, API, and backend systems.
- Specialized Mobile Automation: develop and execute automated test scripts for iOS and Android applications, integrating mobile tests with emulators, simulators, and real‑device clouds into the team’s delivery pipeline.
Basic Requirements

- Actively contribute to continuous integration and delivery pipelines to ensure frequent, high‑quality releases.
- Demonstrated proficiency in a modern programming language and the ability to apply core engineering principles.
- Proven expertise in iOS/Android mobile testing, proficiency with cross‑platform mobile tools (e.g., Appium) or native frameworks (XCUITest, Espresso), using languages like Python, JavaScript or TypeScript.
- Experience with testing and automating workflows across different layers of a system, including user interfaces (UI) and APIs.
- Solid troubleshooting and debugging skills to identify and resolve test failures and system issues.
- Familiarity with CI/CD principles and practical experience contributing to or maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
Preferred Skills
- Hands‑on experience with TypeScript/Playwright.
- Familiar with methodologies and tools for soak or performance testing.
- Practical experience with Jenkins or similar scheduling and integration tools.
- Exposure to video platforms, streaming technologies, or media solutions.
- Experience in hardware automation.
- Understanding of application state patterns, data flows (e.g., Pinia, Vuex, or Redux) and reactivity/observables.
- Hands‑on experience with RESTful API, websockets and solid understanding of web development principles.
- Good foundation in data structures, algorithms and design patterns, with a long‑term view of system implications.
- Demonstrated team player skills and a willingness to collaborate with others.
- Excited about building, operating and maintaining resilient, scalable systems.
- Ability to investigate root causes, find solutions and test the code.
- Happy exploring new areas of the codebase and jumping into new features with help where needed.
- Willingness to learn and continuously improve the codebase through patterns or libraries.
- Comfortable with a distributed, remote culture and working remotely part of the week.
