The Design team is part of the Avigilon Alta department, which represents a unique group of products within Motorola Solutions. Avigilon Alta is a complete cloud-based security solution that future-proofs your video security and access control with innovative capabilities and intelligent analytics.
The Avigilon Alta team injects intelligence into their approach to security and all their solutions. They help organisations see, understand, and act on their surroundings to protect people, business, and reputation in real-time. The Avigilon Alta department consistently works on state-of-the-art solutions to meet the needs of our customers across various verticals. We develop both hardware and software products as part of our complete cloud-based security solution.
This role is working on a hybrid basis, with the expectation of working out of our London offices during two days of the week.
The design team contributes throughout the product development process, from the initial stages (fuzzy front end) through to gathering customer feedback for continuous product improvement. The Design team is responsible for analyzing use cases, designing, and maintaining the entire design system. This includes developing new products, new features, adding capabilities, and evolving design patterns across all products. The core product currently being developed is Alta Video, and Alta Protect is also growing and gaining traction. The design team currently consists of UX designers, VD designers and UX researchers. We are an agile team that prides itself on fostering autonomy, valuing collaboration, and prioritizing quality.
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Visual Designer (VD) to join our growing team. While experience with specific technologies is not mandatory, a strong commitment to contributing to excellent user experiences and graphic design, coupled with a drive for continuous design improvement, is essential.
Portfolio and Experience:
- A strong portfolio showcasing relevant visual design work (both individual and collaborative), demonstrating skills and experience through case studies.
- Sufficient experience to be considered for a Mid-Level role (3+ years).
Basic Requirements
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working as a Visual Designer (VD), User Interface (UI) designer or Digital designer.
- Has experience in designing Web, iOS and Android interfaces.
- Proficiency in using Figma.
- Strong understanding of UI (User Interface) design principles and best practices, including knowledge of common UI patterns and components.
- Experience with creating and maintaining design systems and style guides: Ensuring visual consistency and scalability across products.
- Attention to detail and pixel-perfection: Ensuring visual consistency and high-quality execution.
- Understanding of visual accessibility guidelines: Designing interfaces that are usable by people with disabilities (WCAG).
- Wants a career where their creative abilities will make a difference to the world of technology and where they will be part of an impressive R&D environment.
It is also considered a bonus if you have:
- Familiarity with responsive design principles: Designing interfaces that adapt to different screen sizes.
- Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript: Knowing the limitations and possibilities of front-end development can inform design decisions.
