Job Description
Motorola Solutions’ Avigilon Alta Video brings cloud video security systems to the next level. Alta’s cloud‑based video security solution offers industry‑leading full AI video analytics and exceptional operational insights. The Alta Video engineering team injects intelligence into their approach to security and all their solutions, helping organisations see, understand and act on their surroundings in real‑time. The role is located in our city centre office in Edinburgh, with a hybrid model aiming for 2 days in office per week.
Responsibilities
- Lead and build high performing teams of software developers from graduate to senior level.
- Coach, mentor and encourage career development.
- Work with teams to promote engineering best practices.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Collaborate with the product team to balance short‑term and long‑term objectives.
- Partner with the wider organization to achieve strategic objectives.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience leading software engineering teams.
- Demonstrated experience leveraging AI tools to optimise engineering processes and team performance.
- Track record of delivering projects on time.
- Natural ability to inspire and motivate.
- Drive for continual learning.
- Exposure to Scrum or other Agile frameworks.
- Knowledge of modern SDLC.
- Cloud and/or DevOps experience on a product with a large customer base and global reach.
- Passionate about CI/CD and release trains, delivering a regular cadence of features and quality improvements.
- Mastery in at least one programming language (C++, Go, TypeScript, etc.).
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
