Department Overview
The purpose of this role is to ensure customers are highly satisfied with Motorola Solutions’ Noggin software implementations, get the most value out of Noggin’s products and services, and continue to subscribe to Noggin’s software and ongoing professional services. As a member of the Professional Services team this role is responsible for working through the implementation process with 3-4 customers at a time. Implementation consultants gather requirements, design solutions, and work to configure the solutions required by our clients. Implementation consultants are responsible for assisting clients with system set up, configuration, integration assistance, data migration and training needs guided by the Noggin implementation process.
Job Duties
- Apply requirements gathering techniques (such as solution walk-throughs, document analysis, requirements workshops, business analysis) to independently determine the requirements for customers or potential customers.
- Lead requirements gathering workshops for medium to large stakeholder groups.
- Guide the customers through Noggin Solutions to capture applicable customization changes.
- Where appropriate, assist the customer in adopting best practice template work package solutions.
- Devise solution design approaches to determine how to configure a system to meet functional requirements.
- Create solution change registers and custom solution design documentation.
- Document and assign configuration tasks to the Configuration Analysts.
- Have and maintain the ability to configure all components of the system to construct entire sites (i.e., full system builds).
- Conduct system functional testing using test cases and test scripts.
- Prepare complete test plans including writing test cases and test scripts.
- Support customer defect remediation activities.
- Deliver full-length/comprehensive product demonstrations, including demonstration of entire system functionality to large numbers of participants.
- Deliver standard or tailored product training to customers.
- Assist customers with their configuration by providing expert advice on configuration design, and conduct customer configuration reviews.
- Create customer-facing user guides and training material.
- Adhere to the Noggin project methodology and provide direction/guidance on project tasks and activities to Configuration Analysts.
- Develop and maintain deep knowledge and expertise in products and solutions that Noggin provides, including the customer problems they address, how they are used, and the benefits they provide.
- Analyze the requirements of customers (prospective, existing or partners), and advise on or devise solutions for them, including custom configuration.
- Configure solutions for customer’s needs, or tasks and coordinate the Configuration Analysts to do so.
- Provide compelling presentations, tours, and demonstrations of Noggin’s products to prospective buyers, customers, or partners, that showcase how requirements are met, and the advantages and benefits.
- Act as the product expert in meetings with customers or partners, answering questions about product capabilities and/or researching and providing the correct answers.
- Assist with the scoping of implementations including work breakdowns and estimations.
- Act as a first escalation point to assist the Noggin customer support team with troubleshooting / investigating post-project production issues.
- Coach more junior members of the team and assist new starters.
- Conduct internal / peer reviews of project work for junior resources working as Implementation Consultant I.
- Develop knowledge base articles and share lessons learned around system configuration capabilities/functionality.
- Accurately log time and achieve specified billable utilization of 75%.
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business / commerce / information technology / computer science, or equivalent qualifications or experience.
- A minimum of 3 years commercial experience in business or software analysis / SAAS or other software implementation.
- Demonstrated experience in some or all of the following:
- Requirements gathering and analysis
- Designing solutions for SAAS or other software implementation
- Working within project teams in a software development context
- Web-based software design and usability
- Product analysis for software products
- Risk, crisis, incident, or emergency management systems
