Department Overview

Motorola's Avigilon Alta provides cloud‑based security that future‑proofs your video security and access control with innovative capabilities and intelligent analytics. We are looking for candidates who can help us build, scale and innovate as we develop our industry‑leading platform for access control and office automation. Strong analytical and software skills are a must in order to join our team, and we are particularly seeking candidates with experience and skills in multiple technologies, in order to contribute broadly to our team‑centric approach to product development.

Job Description

This role is mainly remote.

  • Project Strategy And Planning: Ensure the project scope, goals, and deliverables are clearly defined and all stakeholders are aligned on the business objectives of the project. Create project plans that provide sufficient time for each phase in the SDLC, while still maintaining a sense of urgency. Use a deep understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle to outline project plans that allow sufficient time for each phase of technical development while still maintaining a sense of urgency. Serve as a liaison between stakeholders and the development team, ensuring development priorities are clear to all. Collaborate with Product Managers to ensure compliance needs are factored into product development roadmaps, and drive forward progress for implementation of compliance requirements. Continually identify lessons learned, evaluate completed tasks and make process improvements based upon successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • Execution, Control, And Risk Management: Navigate technical change and iterative development while ensuring projects are delivered on‑time and within scope. Monitor security debt and sprint progress toward remediation. Identify bottlenecks and work with Engineers and Management to identify and develop mitigation strategies. Manage changes to the project scope, schedule, and timeline and ensure all stakeholders are aware of any changes. Track milestones, deliverables, and change requests. Maintain metrics and reports for management.
  • Team Leadership And Coordination: Assemble, lead, motivate, and coordinate project teams, ensuring effective collaboration. Coordinate internal resources, cross‑functional teams, and manage external third parties/vendors.
  • Communication And Stakeholder Liaison: Facilitate effective communication between team members and stakeholders to ensure alignment. Interface with clients and stakeholders to understand their needs, manage expectations, and provide regular status updates. Coordinate stakeholder, marketing, and training efforts to correspond with product launch dates. Serve as a liaison, communicating information regarding changes, milestones reached, and other pertinent information. Plan and facilitate meetings, ensuring productive dialogue and clear action items. Report and elevate issues and project risks to management as needed.
  • Technical And Quality Oversight: Implement agile methodologies and best practices to enhance efficiency and project outcomes. Provide leadership in process analysis and improvement, specifically focusing on change management and integration management. Coordinate with Engineers and QA to ensure the software meets quality standards through testing and reviews.
  • Documentation And Closure: Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, records, and reports to meet regulatory or contractual compliance standards. Conduct post‑project evaluations to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements and plan for future fixes.

Basic Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Risk Management, Management Information Systems, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of experience in project management, specifically within software development environments. Proven track record of successfully managing software projects from inception to completion. Proficiency in using project management software, such as JIRA, Microsoft Project, or Trello. Proven ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously. Demonstrated experience working in a collaborative and fast‑paced environment.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail. Strong leadership skills with a collaborative approach to team management. Strong problem‑solving mindset and analytical abilities. Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities. A proactive approach to problem‑solving. Critical thinking and decision‑making skills.
