The Principal role of the Business Analyst is to establish an operational relationship with the designated project and operational personnel of the assigned multiple customers. Working with the customer to develop and maintain the documentation relating to business benefits realisation. The Business Analyst forms part of the deployment team working with multiple customers and will work closely with the assigned Technical Project Manager, Deployment Engineers, Test Engineers and Software Engineer. The Business Analyst will ensure that the software product will meet the customer requirements during deployment and throughout the continuous improvement cycle of live service and will be responsible for the configuration.
Roles And Responsibilities- Act as the operational process subject matter expert for assigned customers, ensuring solutions align with their needs and goals.
- Lead requirement gap analysis during pre-contract and contract change phases, delivering clear assessments of functional requirements.
- Capture and document customer and supplier requirements, acceptance criteria and user stories, ensuring clarity on delivered outcomes.
- Manage training needs analysis, deliver "train the trainer" sessions and support end‑user training.
- Collaborate with Software Test Engineers to support testing events and defect management.
- Provide on-site support for key events such as go‑live, software upgrades and system outages.
- Assist in the creation of pre‑sales solution proposals and deployment documentation, ensuring alignment with customer requirements.
- Proven experience in delivering large, complex software solutions to Police or Fire agencies. Hands‑on experience with mobile products including MDT solutions is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of Agile software development and experience bridging customer and development teams.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate technical details into clear, operational language.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, customers and key stakeholders.
- Experience managing customer requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria for software development teams.
- Awareness of the commercial impact of deployments and operational challenges.
- Familiarity with Motorola Solutions’ products and public safety control room operations is highly desirable.
