This role is a remote role, with regular travel, around 1 / 2 days per week. Customer base will be based in the North of the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identification and development of new opportunities across specific customers in order to increase pipeline.
  • Understanding customers issues and needs and recognising, generating and delivering business opportunities against them based on existing and potential product set and solutions.
  • Lead and drive sales opportunities through to closure in order to increase the company sales revenues.
  • To define, develop and own customer Executive level relationships and customer contact strategy.
  • To provide direction on strategy and problem resolution.
  • Maintenance of company information of accounts, opportunities and relevant individuals via the appropriate business management tool.
  • Achievement of sales, contribution, revenue and other financial targets.
  • A good understanding of the Public Safety market and Motorola’s key competitors.

Business Impact:

  • Medium-term business strategy and objectives typically guide this role, although there may be involvement in the formulation and development of future policy.
  • Impact is primarily short to medium term but may develop plans over the longer term.
  • Assesses customer relationships and service level.

Authority/Decision Making:

  • Able to engage at senior management (C-level) both internally and externally to within well-defined limits of delegation.
  • Strategic accountability and responsibility: is responsible for decision making in the opportunities they manage. Major financial decisions will be taken within the Delegation of Authority criteria.

Basic Requirements:

  • Sales experience or sufficient market experience.
  • Ideally educated to Degree level or equivalent (not essential).

Skills/Experience:

  • Demonstrable experience of consultative selling in complex business markets (preferably public sector and/or ICT sectors).
  • An understanding of Government and public sector procurement.
  • Can articulate the major trends in the communications industry and Public Safety market.
  • Can align industry trends with their likely impact in the market.
  • Strong solution and product selling skills and expertise.
  • Good level of technical and commercial expertise and knowledge.
  • Record of achieving sales targets with a good commercial awareness.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Good negotiation skills.
  • Motivated to achieve and a self-starter.
  • A strong leader and is able to motivate others to maximise sales within those accounts.
