North Humberside Motor Trades GTA is a non‑profit organisation dedicated to providing high‑quality training and qualifications for motor vehicle apprenticeships in the auto care and motor vehicle maintenance and repair sectors. Established in 1972 with support from the Road Transport Industry Training Board, the GTA achieved charitable status in 1990 and remains committed to helping individuals pursue careers in the road transport industry. Based in Kingston Upon Hull, the organisation delivers full‑time courses for individuals aged 16‑18 and offers high‑demand certifications, such as MOT New Tester, Light Vehicle Inspection, F‑Gas, Hybrid vehicle qualifications, and more.
Role Description
If you’re passionate about the motor vehicle industry and want to help shape the future of aspiring motor vehicle technicians, we’d love to hear from you. Ideally you will hold a level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent. If you do not hold a level 3 qualification, we may consider applicants who hold a relevant level 2 qualification, together with significant recent industrial experience. Our automotive engineering team have excellent practical skills, knowledge and a passion for delivering vocational qualifications in a safe, professional manner. Ideally you will hold a relevant Level 3 teaching qualification or above or be willing to work towards one in the first year of appointment. You will have the opportunity to shadow other tutors/classes as part of your induction.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and effective teaching across motor vehicle programmes (Levels 2/3)
- Assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback
- Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
- Support students’ academic and personal development
- Contribute to course development and continuous improvement
- Maintain a safe and professional workshop and learning environment
- Maintain accurate learner records and contribute to quality improvement activities.
