At MIB our people are passionate about making roads safer by getting uninsured and hit-and-run drivers off our roads. Working in partnership with the Police, Insurers and Government our collective aim is to make it a thing of the past but, until that’s accomplished, we’re here to compensate victims quickly, fairly and compassionately. Last year we helped more than 34,000 people struck by uninsured and hit-and-run drivers and paid over £400 million in compensation to support victims rebuild their lives.

About the role

The Senior Change Manager will provide high impact support to strengthen how the organisation approaches change within a strategic delivery portfolio. The role focuses on bringing structure, clarity, and discipline to change activity while building internal capability so that teams become more confident and self-sufficient over time. This position is designed to “test and learn” — establishing what works, demonstrating value quickly, and informing the structure and definition of an effective internal Change Management practice.

Key responsibilities

  • Establishing Structure and Rigour in Change Delivery
    • Lead the introduction of practical, right‑sized change frameworks that bring consistency without overwhelming teams.
    • Create efficient, repeatable tools for planning, impact assessment, and decision-making – targeted towards strategic initiative projects delivery.
    • Bring discipline to change governance within the overarching delivery portfolio, ensuring risks, dependencies, and issues are surfaced early and managed transparently.
    • Stabilise current change initiatives by clarifying scope, roles, and expectations.
  • Process Mapping and Process Clarity
    • Lead current state process mapping to uncover pain points, inefficiencies, and areas of confusion.
    • Translate complex or undocumented processes into clear, accessible visuals and guidance.
    • Lead and facilitate future state design sessions that help teams align on what “good” looks like.
    • Lead the build of a process library and introduction of lightweight governance to keep documentation accurate and maintained.
  • Capability Development and Confidence Building
    • Assess where teams lack change capability, confidence, or clarity — and design targeted interventions.
    • Lead the delivery of hands‑on coaching, training, and practical tools that help people adopt new ways of working.
    • Identify skills gaps and outline a development plan for existing change managers, in order to progress the maturity of the internal change support function.
    • Lead the development of playbooks, templates, and guides that MIB teams can use within a high level change framework, to support internal and external teams through transitions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Trust Building
    • Work closely with leaders and teams who may be sceptical, building trust through transparency and delivery.
    • Use clear and accessible communication that cuts through complexity and builds shared understanding.
    • Lead and facilitate workshops and conversations, within the context of the agreed strategic delivery projects, that surface concerns and create shared ownership of solutions.
  • Early Wins, Measurement, and Insight
    • Identify and deliver quick wins within the delivery portfolio that demonstrate the value of structured change management.
    • Define clear success measures for the interim period and track progress against them.
    • Provide honest, evidence based insight into what is working, what is not, and how change management capability needs to evolve.
    • Outline a right‑sized and right‑skilled internal Change Management Practice, considering both the size/complexity/unique nature of the organisation and the agreed strategic roadmap delivery initiatives.

Skills and Experience

  • Strong experience introducing structure and discipline into delivery environments with low change maturity.
  • Expertise in process mapping and process improvement methodologies.
  • Proven ability to build capability in teams with varying levels of readiness.
  • Skilled at simplifying complexity and creating clarity where there is ambiguity.
  • Strong facilitation and relationship building skills, especially with sceptical or change fatigued stakeholders.
  • Able to bring structure and clarity in ambiguous or unstructured environments without adding unnecessary complexity or bureaucracy.
  • Able to understand different stakeholder perspectives and adapt approach to meet teams at their current level of readiness.
  • Demonstrated ability to think in a structured, systematic way and apply strong analytical skills to identify solutions.
  • Proven ability to build trust quickly and influence stakeholders at all levels, working effectively within a portfolio delivery environment.
  • Able to prioritise effectively and maintain focus on outcomes and benefits, ensuring activity remains aligned to delivery objectives.
  • Experience in supporting organisations undergoing cultural or operational transformation.
  • Change management certification.
  • Background in interim or turnaround roles.

Contract Details

  • 12 Month Fixed Term Contract
  • Salary Circa ÂŁ85,000 per annum
  • Grade 14
  • 35 hours per week (Monday - Friday)
  • IT kit supplied to you
  • ÂŁ320 (before tax) start up allowance
  • Hybrid working (2 days in the office per week) from our Milton Keynes office, MK14
