About the role
Are you ready to take the helm of a dynamic security team and shape the future of our cyber resilience? We’re looking for a strategic and hands‑on Security Operations Manager to fortify our defences, drive compliance, and lead proactive risk mitigation across the organisation. You’ll oversee Security Operations and Engineering, manage incident response, and collaborate with IT, legal, and compliance teams to embed a culture of security awareness. Key responsibilities
- Security Operations Oversight – Oversee daily security operations, including monitoring, threat analysis, and vulnerability management, with regular oversight by and reporting to the Head of Information Security and Executive Security Steering Group.
- Compliance and Risk Management – Working with Group Privacy Office, Risk and Audit functions to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. Supporting the Head of Information Security in conducting regular risk assessments and ensuring that information security controls map to risk appetite and requirements.
- Strategic Planning – Support the Head of Information Security on the development and implementation of strategic security plans to enhance MIB’s security posture and resilience.
- Operational Resilience – Identify within Security Operations and support the business on our Operational Resilience efforts.
- Incident Response Management – Lead and coordinate from a Security perspective incident response efforts, ensuring timely and effective resolution of security incidents.
- Budget Management – The Security Operations Manager will play a crucial role in supporting the Head of Information Security to effectively manage the security budget. This includes resources management, identifying cost‑saving opportunities, managing vendor relationships, aligned with MIB’s long‑term security goals.
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in leading, managing, and developing Security Operations and Security Engineering teams, mentoring and guiding members in a high‑performance environment.
- Experience in budget management and control.
- Extensive experience in security incident response leadership, coordinating and managing incident response efforts, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- Relevant advanced security qualifications such as CISSP, GIAC. Vendor‑specific training and qualifications for endpoint and networking security solutions are highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of sound networking principles and experience in specifying policies and operating security tools.
- Proven experience in communicating and presenting highly complex information to internal and external stakeholders, articulating security concepts and strategies clearly and effectively.
- Strong analytical and systematic thinking skills, able to think strategically and manage complex security challenges.
