At MIB our people are passionate about making roads safer by getting uninsured and hit-and-run drivers off our roads. Working in partnership with the Police, Insurers and Government our collective aim is to make it a thing of the past but, until that’s accomplished, we’re here to compensate victims quickly, fairly and compassionately. Last year we helped more than 42,000 people struck by uninsured and hit-and-run drivers and paid over £400 million in compensation to support victims rebuild their lives.

You will be joining us at a pivotal time as we embark on a brand new strategy to create and embed a talent management philosophy and approach, ensuring MIB has the right skills at the right time to support the organisation’s transformation objectives and initiating lasting change.
We are looking for someone to create a dynamic learning culture that delivers our future skills requirements, drives colleague ownership of learning, embeds continuous improvement; supports effective and proactive management of change; and builds personal and professional career pathways for our workforce. In addition, you will embed a performance culture that supports meaningful engagement and continuous feedback, built on open and honest working relationships and that recognises and appropriately deals with differentiated performance behaviour.
Key Responsibilities
- Put in place succession planning that ensures we are future fit for roles and capabilities needed beyond today; including a pipeline of future leaders.
- Provide developmental solutions to increase executive, senior leadership, management capability and behaviour aligned to the MIB principles, behaviours and EVP, recognising the strategic direction of the business.
- As part of this, co-create a set of Leadership standards that will transform MIB’s leadership approach into a first-class employee experience.
- Build a learning culture ensuring all employees have appropriate access to development materials and interventions offering career guidance and experiential pathways.
- Work with the Resourcing Partner and Senior People Partners to establish and embed a strategic workforce planning approach, including future skills mapping and an early talent agenda where appropriate.
- Collaborate with People Team colleagues on how work is commissioned, co-created and designed with a focus on the employee experience.
- Work with our data analytics team to produce high quality capability and talent insight to inform effective decision making and demonstrate a return on expectations.
- Manage the L&D budget including bidding for money in budget rounds and reforecasts and providing guidance to the team in “best value” spend through the year.
- Lead and direct the identification, implementation and evaluation of psychological profiling tools in collaboration with the People Partner and Resourcing team.
- Further develop the Strengths Profiling tools and resources, to build on the initial deployment and strengthen and expand the use of Strengths within MIB, in collaboration with the People Partner and Resourcing teams.
- Ensure that the MIB people experience remains in line with industry best practice through the establishment of internal and external networks.
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in being an expert or trusted advisor, in a People/HR team, with a proactive, flexible and inclusive management style appropriate to the complexity and diversity of the MIB.
- Experience in future skills mapping processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an enthusiastic and positive approach.
- The ability to build collaborative stakeholder relationships.
- The ability to make logical, well-balanced and reasoned decisions and have a pragmatic problem solving approach in times of ambiguity.
- A commitment to people development and the organisational values and behaviours.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to deliver projects to plan, cost and quality.
- Previous experience of Leadership and team dynamics programme development.
- Commercially focussed.
- Emotional resilience and intelligence.
- Experience of using psychological profiling tools and established coaching skills.
Salary circa ÂŁ65,000 per annum
