Take Your Mechanical Skills Further

Are you an experienced Vehicle Mechanic, Diagnostic Technician or Master Technician looking for a role that offers greater technical variety, more advanced vehicle technology and the opportunity to work across multiple manufacturers? At Motofix, we believe modern accident repair is one of the most technically rewarding sectors within the automotive industry. Rather than carrying out routine servicing and maintenance, you'll use your mechanical expertise to diagnose, repair and rebuild collision-damaged vehicles, working with advanced diagnostics, ADAS technology, geometry equipment and electric vehicle systems every day. If you enjoy solving complex technical problems and want to broaden your skills beyond a traditional dealership environment, we’d love to hear from you.

Why Join Motofix?

Motofix is one of the South of England's leading accident repair groups, operating nine purpose-built repair centres equipped with the latest manufacturer-approved repair technology. We repair vehicles for many of the world's leading automotive brands and are trusted by insurers, manufacturers and fleet operators to return vehicles to pre-accident condition safely and professionally. Our technicians work across virtually every major manufacturer, giving you exposure to a far wider range of vehicle technologies than most dealership environments can offer.

Why Dealership Mechanics Are Choosing Motofix

  • Working on multiple premium vehicle brands, not just one.
  • Advanced mechanical repairs rather than routine servicing.
  • State-of-the-art diagnostic equipment and manufacturer software.
  • Four-wheel alignment and chassis geometry systems.
  • ADAS calibration equipment.
  • Electric and Hybrid vehicle repair technology.
  • Continuous investment in workshop equipment and training.
  • Genuine opportunities to develop your diagnostic and technical expertise.
  • No two repairs are ever the same.
  • Every day presents a fresh technical challenge.

About the Role

As a Vehicle Mechanic, you'll play a vital role in returning collision-damaged vehicles to manufacturer standards. Working alongside our Panel Technicians, Paint Technicians and Vehicle Damage Assessors, you'll diagnose faults, carry out complex mechanical repairs and ensure every vehicle leaves our workshop repaired safely and correctly.

Your Responsibilities

  • Diagnosing mechanical, electrical and electronic faults.
  • Removing and refitting engines, gearboxes and drivetrain components.
  • Repairing steering, suspension and braking systems.
  • Carrying out wheel alignment and chassis geometry.
  • Completing ADAS calibration and post-repair diagnostic procedures.
  • Working on petrol, diesel, hybrid and electric vehicles.
  • Performing quality inspections and road testing where appropriate.
  • Following manufacturer repair methods and technical procedures.
  • Maintaining accurate repair documentation.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve right-first-time repairs.

What We're Looking For

We’re looking for experienced mechanics who enjoy fault finding, problem solving and delivering work to the highest standards. You’ll ideally have:

  • Experience as a Vehicle Mechanic, Vehicle Technician, Diagnostic Technician or Master Technician.
  • IMI Level 3, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical and diagnostic skills.
  • Experience using modern manufacturer diagnostic equipment.
  • Experience working on petrol, diesel, hybrid and electric vehicles.
  • HEV qualification (desirable but not essential).
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Excellent attention to detail and pride in delivering quality workmanship.

Whether you’re currently working in a franchised dealership, independent garage, fleet workshop or manufacturer service centre, we’d like to hear from you.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary.
  • Performance-related bonus opportunities.
  • 30 days annual leave (including Bank Holidays)
  • Company pension scheme
  • Life assurance
  • Employee wellbeing programme
  • Long service recognition awards
  • Uniform and PPE provided
  • Ongoing technical and manufacturer-led training
  • Career development opportunities across one of the UK’s leading repair groups
  • Modern, well-equipped workshops using the latest repair technology
