About the Role
As a Junior Accounts Technician, you will receive hands-on training and support to develop your finance skills and gain practical experience in a busy accounts department. You will learn a variety of daily, weekly, and monthly finance tasks, including purchase ledger management, processing bank receipts, communicating with suppliers and various other financial office duties. This role is designed to provide a structured learning path, equipping you with the knowledge and confidence to build a strong foundation in finance.
With training and guidance, you will:
- Process bank receipts and learn how to reconcile them against customer remittance advice.
- Input non-job-related purchase invoices with increasing accuracy and efficiency.
- Download and post daily bank statements, ensuring correct recording of direct debits and standing orders.
- Transfer and reconcile purchase ledger data, developing an understanding of financial accuracy and reporting.
- Resolve purchase ledger queries by working closely with suppliers and bodyshop locations.
- Issue cheques under supervision, following authorisation by the Head of Finance.
- Manage and reconcile petty cash transactions, gaining confidence in handling financial records.
- Communicate with suppliers via phone and email, improving your professional interaction skills.
- Provide general administrative support within the accounts office, contributing to the smooth running of the department.
About You
