About the role

Location: Offshore

Hours: Variable Based on Set Contract

The Offshore Inspector is responsible for the completion of inspection services including, but not limited to, Lifting Gear Surveys, Load Testing, Wire Rope Inspection, and NDT Inspection, to join our global offshore team.

This role oversees on-site inspection services to commission and operate equipment in a safe, competent, and professional manner, while working alongside the client and Motive Offshore Group departments.

As part of our Certification & Inspection team, you’ll be part of a small, hardworking, and skilled team that works collaboratively to high standards. You’ll be supported by our Technical Authority and Operations teams in Kintore, who care deeply about the services we provide. You’ll be part of a committed Motive team in the UK and globally that supports growth, fosters a positive, values-driven, and professional environment.

Responsibilities

People

  • Adopt the Motive Offshore Group People Values and embed them in day-to-day tasks and decision making.
  • Supervise and provide on-site training for less experienced Inspectors; assist with ongoing personnel competency.
  • Use Motion Kinetic Software to produce high-quality inspection reports for customers.
  • Be a positive ambassador for Motive Offshore Group Ltd.

Planet

  • Ensure overall safety of themselves and others; oversee Inspectors to ensure inspections and reporting are completed per company procedures.
  • Deal with clients and ensure all work complies with company safety, environmental, and quality policies and procedures.

Product

  • Complete inspection services and the report package.
  • Carry out LOLER surveys, capable of leading initial and follow-up surveys.
  • Perform load testing using water bags and solid weights.
  • Perform NDT, dimensional and functional inspection of equipment related to oil and gas and renewable sectors; manage equipment and personnel.
  • Select, calibrate, or operate equipment used in non-destructive testing of products or materials.
  • If qualified, carry out spooling activities such as wire rope and cable removal, change-out, and installation.
  • If qualified, carry out various rope access works, including rigging up and inspecting rope access equipment prior to and during use.
  • If qualified, perform visual and NDT examination of high-performance wire rope construction.
  • Complete Daily Client Service Record Forms with accurate times and descriptions and obtain signed approval from the client.
  • Stocktake equipment on arrival at the worksite and communicate any anomalies or damage to the client and Operations Team.
  • Demobilise equipment at the worksite and prepare for shipping, completing necessary cargo manifests.
  • Travel to worldwide destinations as required.

Required skills / knowledge

  • Relevant Load Testing experience, along with NDT & Lifting Gear Inspection experience
  • LEEA Foundation (FOU) Part 1 Entry Exam
  • LEEA General (LAC) Lifting Accessories Course
  • Magnetic Particle Inspection Level 2
  • Dye Penetrant Testing Level 2
  • Rope Access – Any Level
  • Good communication skills with the ability to prioritise
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio)
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Offshore Survival & UKOOA Offshore Medical
  • Bi-Deltoid Shoulder Measurement
