About the role
The HSEQ Advisor will provide Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality Management support to the Motive Offshore Group in all worldwide locations from which it operates.
The HSEQ Advisor will also assist the HSEQ department in ensuring that the company complies with all Health, Safety and Environmental legislation, ISO 9001, ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 standards and all current or future other certification.

Based at our headquarters in Boyndie, Banff, you'll be the HSEQ focal point for our Manufacturing division while working alongside a supportive team and gaining exposure to a wide range of HSEQ activities across the wider business.
Responsibilities

- Champion and embody the Motive Offshore Group’s People Values, ensuring they are integrated into daily tasks and decision‑making processes.
- Whilst supporting the Group HSEQ Manager, serve as the primary point of contact for all HSEQ matters, providing expert advice and guidance to management, supervisors, and employees.
- Influence and promote positive HSEQ behaviours across the Company.
- Ensure employees are fully aware of potential hazards associated with their activities and the control measures in place to minimise risks.
- Verify that subcontractors comply with HSE legislation, implement effective risk prevention measures, and meet all quality standards.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, colleagues, and other partners.
- Act as a positive ambassador for Motive Offshore Group Ltd., consistently reflecting the company’s people values and commitment to excellence.
- Assist in ensuring that Motive Offshore Group team members work in an environment which provides for good health.

- Ensure Motive Offshore Group complies with environmental laws, regulations, and standards (e. g., ISO 14001) across the regions.
- Monitor and report on environmental performance, including emissions, waste management, and resource usage.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential environmental impacts and implement control measures to mitigate them.
- Investigate environmental incidents, root cause identified and ensure corrective actions are implemented to prevent recurrence.
- Assist with the development and implementation of sustainable consumption and related production patterns.
- Promote sustainability awareness and behaviour across the Company through training and initiatives.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of a roadmap for the company’s transition to net zero.
- Assist with the identification of and implementation of initiatives to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
- Identify opportunities for improvement in the environmental and sustainability processes and recommend changes.
- Assist in ensuring that environmental impacts are considered across the Motive Offshore Group to ensure that Climate Change is actively progressed.
- Engage with clients, suppliers, and other partners to provide for partnership for sustainable development.
- Product
- Conduct internal and external HSEQ audits to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
- Perform regular HSEQ inspections at both on‑site and off‑site locations.
- Support the maintenance of existing certifications and assist in transitioning to new certifications as required.
- Assist various operational locations in achieving and sustaining HSEQ certifications.
- Investigate non‑conformances, incidents, and near misses, ensuring root causes are identified and corrective actions implemented.
- Provide HSEQ support to all Motive locations, including site‑based project work when necessary.
- Travel on an ad hoc basis to support HSEQ activities across Motive’s operational locations.
- Manage the revision, control, and distribution of management system documentation.
- Create, update, and maintain HSEQ forms to ensure consistency and relevance.
- Prepare and distribute KPI reports to monitor HSEQ performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with relevant departments to organise and track planned preventative maintenance schedules.
- Partner with the Learning & Development (L&D) team to develop and deliver HSEQ training programs.
- Maintain and update the Non‑Conformance and Action Tracking System to ensure timely resolution of issues.
- Stay informed about relevant legislation and industry standards, ensuring compliance at all times.
- Support other departments with bid proposals, completion of external provider evaluation questionnaires, and document control as required.
- Proactively reduce risks and ensure compliance with health and safety legislation through risk assessments, trend analysis, and effective communication.
- Conduct, review, and update risk assessments, COSHH assessments, and associated data sheets on an annual basis or as needed.
- Assist in fostering innovation and building a resilient infrastructure through identifying HSEQ excellence which may contribute to Product/Process improvement.
- Required skills / knowledge
- NEBOSH advantageous but not essential.
- Internal Auditor (9001 / 14001 / 45001) preferred but not essential.
- Experience in Management Systems BS EN ISO 9001, BS EN ISO 14001 and BS EN ISO 45001.
- Good knowledge of current Health, Safety and Environmental Protection Legislation.
- Experience in incident and NCR investigation and root cause analysis.
- Experience in internal and external auditing.
- Experience in HSEQ project management advantageous.
- Good presentation skills and the ability to deliver training for the requirements of the current Health & Safety Legislation.
- The ability to influence and communicate effectively with all levels of staff.
- Good report writing skills.
- Self‑motivated and ability to work under pressure.
- Assertive with meticulous attention to detail.
