About the role:

  • Location: Aberdeenshire

The role of Accountant will provide Accounting support to the TIC (Testing, Inspection and Certification) division, working alongside the Europe Controller in maintaining accurate financial records across the Group's European trading entities. The role is responsible for general ledger integrity, month-end close activities and balance sheet reconciliations, working closely with the wider finance team to ensure reporting deadlines are met.

You will gain exposure to multiple entities, work closely with colleagues across different regions, and play an important role in supporting the financial performance of the business. About the team:

You will be joining a dedicated and collaborative team. As our Motive team continues to expand, our finance team plays an integral role in supporting the business's financial health and smooth operations. You will also be working alongside a committed and proud Motive team globally that want to play their part in the growth of the business and support each other daily to create a positive, values driven and hard-working professional environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Adopt and promote the Company People Values ensuring they are demonstrated in all aspects of the role.
  • Act as a positive ambassador for both C-Kore and Motive Offshore Group.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with customers, colleagues and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare and review project cost reports with commentary.
  • Coordinate and support local TIC team to achieve reporting deadlines.
  • Lead and develop local C-Kore (TIC) team.
  • Lead by example in setting the highest possible standards in the promotion of People Values, HSEQ procedures and best practice, ensuring compliance to the Motive Offshore Group HSEQ Policy, procedures, standards and regulatory obligations.
  • Immediately report all accidents, incidents, near misses or environmental concerns.
  • Adhere to and participate in company-wide sustainability policies, procedures and initiatives as they are developed to support our Net Zero objectives.
  • Maintain the general ledger for allocated entities, ensuring transactions are accurately coded and posted.
  • Prepare journal entries, accruals and prepayments as part of the month-end close process.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Support the Europe Controller in preparing monthly management accounts, including variance analysis against budget or reforecast.
  • Assist with the preparation of intercompany reconciliations, liaising with other entity accountants to clear variances.
  • Support the annual budget and reforecast process, providing data and analysis as required.
  • Assist with the preparation of quarterly Group VAT returns.
  • Support external auditors with requested information and documentation during the annual audit process.
  • Monitor debtors and creditors ageing and assist with resolving overdue balances.
  • Assist with weekly and monthly cashflow reporting as required.
  • Understand key contract terms to use in forecasting.
  • Provide early indication of key risks and opportunities through understanding of contracts.
  • Proactively identify and suggest process improvements within areas of responsibility.

Required skills / knowledge:

  • Part-qualified or newly qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ICAS), or qualified by experience.
  • Experience of month-end close processes, journal preparation and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Experienced and competent user of Sage200, Sicon and Excel.
  • Ability to work autonomously while knowing when to escalate.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidential information.
  • High levels of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to foster effective working relationships.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Must have the ability to work on their own or as part of a team.
