About the role:

Hours: Full-time. Reporting to the Manufacturing Division Manager, the Operations Manager - Manufacturing is responsible for overseeing the efficient and effective operation of the Fabrication, Assembly, Fitting, Machine Shop, and Maintenance departments. This role ensures the timely delivery of manufacturing projects while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, productivity, and budget control.

The Operations Manager will manage a team of Chargehands and work closely with the Manufacturing Planner, Project Team, and supply chain to coordinate activities, allocate resources, monitor budget, and ensure that maintenance is undertaken as needed to meet production requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • People: Lead, motivate, and develop the team of Chargehands and Team Leads, ensuring clear communication of expectations and fostering a positive work environment.
  • Planet: Ensure that manufacturing operations adhere to environmental regulations and company sustainability goals. Promote environmentally responsible practices.
  • Product: Lead and oversee the daily operations of Fabrication, Assembly, Fitting, and Machine Shop departments, ensuring timely delivery of production goals while meeting quality and safety standards.

Required skills / knowledge:

  • Proven experience in a manufacturing management role, with strong knowledge of fabrication, assembly, fitting, and machine shop operations.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills.
  • Familiarity with maintenance procedures, quality standards, and health and safety regulations within a manufacturing environment.
