About the role:
- Hours: Full-Time (40 hours per week)
- Reporting to: Operations Manager
- The Workshop Electrical Technician is responsible for the electrical maintenance, preparation, fault diagnosis, and repair of equipment, ensuring all activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with company procedures.
- The role involves looking after the rental fleet assets in terms of electrical items, managing electrical spares, carrying out electrical testing on units, conducting yearly electrical checks, and fault finding electrical problems.
As part of our European team in Peterhead, you’ll benefit from being in a busy, hands-on role. Working alongside a highly skilled workshop team on a varied range of projects, your electrical expertise plays a key part in keeping rental equipment safe, compliant, and ready for use.
About the team:
As a part of our European Rentals team, you’ll become part of a small, hardworking, and skilled team who are used to working to a high standard and specification. You will be supported by John Davidson, Operations Manager - Rentals, and work alongside a team whose goal will be to enable a quick and safe turn-around of equipment.
Responsibilities:
- People: Adopt and promote the Motive Offshore Group People Values and ensure their use is embedded throughout. Develop strong working relations with key stakeholders – clients, colleagues, etc.
- Planet: Adhere to and participate in company-wide sustainability policies, procedures, and initiatives to support our Net Zero objectives. Immediately report all accidents, incidents, near misses or environmental concerns. Lead by example in setting the highest possible standards in the promotion of People Values, HSEQ procedures and best practice, ensuring compliance with the Motive Offshore Group HSEQ Policy, procedures, standards and regulatory obligations.
- Product: Conduct equipment operational checks for Motive fleet of equipment prior to deployment to ensure safe operation. Adhere to all equipment operating procedures relevant to the work tasks. Assist Electrical Supervisor / Workshop supervisor in the maintenance of Motive equipment in accordance with documented procedures and checklists. Responsible for the testing of Motive equipment and the operation of systems for carrying out such checks. Comply with Motive's Health and Safety policies and general site safety rules.
Required skills / knowledge:
- Time served Qualified Electrician
- Basic knowledge in Hydraulics
- CompEX training in Electrical Systems
- Electrically sympathetic
- Considerable and demonstrable post-training experience in a similar environment
- Good communication skills, verbal and written
- Good time management
- Understanding of HS&E obligations
