We’re partnering with a fast-growing, private-equity backed technology business entering an exciting phase of scale, transformation and value creation. They’re looking to appoint a Financial Controller to play a pivotal role in strengthening financial control, supporting growth, and building a best-in-class finance function. This is a broad, hands-on controllership role with real exposure to senior leadership, investors and strategic initiatives. You’ll sit at the heart of the business, owning the numbers, improving processes, and ensuring the finance function is ready for what’s next.
The role:
- Reporting into the Group Finance Director, you’ll lead day-to-day financial control across the group, taking ownership of reporting, compliance, cash and controls while mentoring a small finance team.
- This is a role for someone who enjoys combining technical rigour with commercial impact.
- At a headline level, you’ll be responsible for:
- Owning monthly management accounts and group reporting
- Leading a robust, timely month-end close
- Maintaining strong financial controls, balance sheet integrity and audit readiness
- Overseeing tax, payroll and statutory compliance
- Managing cash flow, working capital and banking relationships
- Driving improvements in systems, processes and automation
- Supporting growth initiatives, transactions and long-term exit readiness
What they’re looking for:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
- Strong technical grounding across UK GAAP and group accounting
- Experience operating as a Financial Controller or senior finance lead in a growing business
- Confident leading and developing a small team
- Systems-savvy (ERP experience such as Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar is advantageous)
- A proactive, commercially minded finance professional who enjoys improving how things are done
